Kennedy Stacey couldn’t be more down on her luck. Her father, a rodeo cowboy, recently passed away after a long, expensive illness. At first close quarters lead to sparring as they fight their attraction--and she fights to have some kind of independence when she’s leaning so heavily on him. But nature can only hold out so long, and despite their better judgement, they give in to their desires.
But Kennedy is afraid he’s taking her body in payment, and he’s afraid of the feelings he has for her as he gets to know her again, the feelings he hasn’t let himself feel since they were sixteen years old.

In the hot steamy days that followed they both learned that despite their past love is eternal.If you want a quick sexy cowboy read, then this book is for you if you want a deep story with an intense plot with twists and mystery, then you might want to look elsewhere. This book has a limited plot held together by good sex and a bit of rodeo to facilitate the need for cowboys for good measure. Is it a bad book? No, not by any means, it is well written and the characters, despite being very predictable were real and likeable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick hot and steamy read to keep them warm when they can't sleep at night.

Only two things wrong is... wished it was longer and the ending, it felt like a cliffhanger. Starts out that Luck is in love with Kennedy but she was sleeping with his brother when he fell for her, he caught them in bed one night and 11 years later he's still in love but very angry with her for his brother area but also for not letting him say goodbye to her father his mentor in the rodeo circuit. When Kennedy lost her father she lost everything because of his medical debts as well as his gambling addiction, she's homeless, carrying her bag of clothes, and trying to find even the simplest of meals to save as much of the little money she has left. That's is why she tries to have Luke help her out but he turned his back on her and she goes to.his brother Liam, he will be glad to help but with a price she can pay with her body all this is going on with Luke is watching. Will he be what she needs or will he left his brother take full control of her and help her pit....
I enjoyed reading this book about Red & Kennedy Stacie and Luke & Liam DeLaney who are the closet group of people who formed a family. Red is Kennedy's dad and he died with a massive amount of debit. The ranch was sold to cover all the debit amassed through the everyday running of a ranch and to pay off all the gambling debit. The house and all it's belongings alone with anything Kennedy owned was sold to satisfy all the extensive medical bills. She sold her car and most of her clothes to feed herself. Now she's completely destitute, hasn't eaten in two days and needs a job. So she goes to the rodeo to look up Luke, who was like a son & a step-brother to her, only problem is he's still pissed that she didn't call when Red was sick, but waited till after he passed to let him know. Luke can't forgive her, Red was like a father to him & his brother Liam and he's pissed that he wasn't given the opportunity to say good-bye and tell Red thank you for taking them in when they needed a father. Kennedy was asked by her dad not to call the boys, she knew it wasn't right but in the end she was barely able to hold it together herself, and she knew it was important to abide by her dad's wishes. Her dad did tell her to look Luke up and ask him to help her get back on her feet when everything was done and over with. So that's why Kennedy reached out to Luke, but because of his pain he turned her away, and now she's sitting on a bar stool next to his brother Liam who has his hands all over her, and the tears are flowing down her checks. Luke pulls her off the stool and says your coming with me, and turns to his brother and says what did you pay for, a sandwich & a beer, Luke flips ten dollars on the bar and says this should take care of her bill, and walks away dragging Kennedy behind him. He tells the waitress to pack his meal & her sandwich to-go they leave and head back to his RV. Read this book because it will make you laugh, cry and cum a lot. It's about two people who grew up together who aren't family but still feel fierce loyalty to each other and in the end love each other. Their are lots of twists and turns but I'm sure you will enjoy reading it. I can't wait to read Liam's story next.
I really enjoyed this book but could have done without all the typos.
Kennedy and her father took in Luke and his brother Liam, so they all grew up together. Luke always had a thing for Kennedy but that changed one night years ago. He caught Kennedy and his brother going at it between the sheets.
Fast forward 10 years. Kennedy has lost everything including her father and turns to Luke for help. He doesn't want to help her because he is mad at her for not telling him her father was sick and dying. However he doesn't want Liam to have her either, one because he still has feelings for her and two because he and his brother have competed for everything all their lives. Therefore he takes her in, gives her a job and basically supports her.
It's a very well written love story, minus the typos mentioned before, that makes you want to root for them as a couple, plus the ending was a little short sighted and kinda rushed, but I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I would usually give a book like this 3 stars but I felt it deserved more then that.
